Although mainly based in Christchurch, she also occasionally works from her Lake Ohau branch office. Fiona works with clients based locally and nationally (including Auckland, Dunedin, Wellington and Whanganui).
Fiona is the mother of twin boys – so you can expect her to be highly organised and fairly unflappable.
She really enjoys her work, and does her best to make sure that working with her makes your legal experience less stressful. Occasionally, she has even been known to crack the odd lawyer joke.
She is pretty good at her job. She was one of only 12 lawyers named nationally as being a “Great Lawyer” and was noted for her “specialist work done exceptionally well” in the inaugural national benchmarking survey of legal service provision in 2006 – Chief Legal Officer Report TM. She was on the All of Government Legal Services Panel between 2011 and 2017.
If you want to speak to her about what she could offer to your organisation feel free to give her a call and have a chat.
Enviromental Projects
Twenty two years ago, Fiona began a native regeneration project at Lake Ohau. The project had restored nearly five hectares of region-specific native vegetation, but much of this was destroyed in the 2020 Lake Ohau fires. This included a number of pittosporum patulum trees, classified as nationally endangered. She is now hard at work repairing the damage and is learning new skills in seed collection, and first aid for pitty patts.
